We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Environmental Specialist II to support our California sites. This position will work without appreciable supervision, in the leadership and support of our environmental program.
You will assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs, policies, and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and effective injury and illness prevention programs and well as have an active role in our organization.

What You’ll Work On
Collaborate with site EHS team and enterprise environmental manager, handle and lead environmental compliance activities, programs and prevention effortsLead EHS programs in performing environmental analyses, training, workplace incident investigations, inspections and internal audits as directedYou will support department programs in the management of hazardous waste activities including the collection, transportation and disposal of all hazardous waste in compliance with all applicable lawsReview new hazardous materials and check incoming material for MSDS’s, rare usage and storage characteristics o Works with end user to ensure proper usage and disposal. Provides mentorship as necessaryDevelop and lead compliance trainingReview and maintain SDS database and site chemical inventoriesSupports EHS management in conducting reviews for facility modification, new product development, product modification and new equipment/machinery as directedOn call for EHS emergencies (24/7)Support ISO 14001 process and its maintenanceSelects and applies environmental management principles, theories and concepts and uses independent judgment to develop and design practical solutions to difficult environmental issuesSupport maintenance of the Facility’s Emergency Response and Fire PlansSupports site Safety and Emergency Coordinator process and other duties as assigned to Inspect and procure accident response and disaster preparedness materials and equipment and oversee applicable training as neededYou are responsible for capturing data for the establishment of report metrics pertinent to EHS activitiesSupport all initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirementsAligns with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignmentsRequired Qualifications
Environmental work experience, Bachelor’s Degree in environmental studies, health sciences, or an equivalent academic fieldExperience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferredAbility to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environmentSolid leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive feedback build relationships and improve business resultsPerform effectively within a team in a dynamic changing environmentSolid verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organizationAbility to travel approximately 25%, as neededPreferred Qualifications

The base pay for this position is $79,500.00 – $138,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
