Your day as an EHS Senior Supervisor:

The EHS Senior Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, implementing ISO-based EHS management systems, and promoting a strong safety culture. Key duties include accident prevention and investigation, hazardous work control, fire protection and emergency response, contractor safety, and continuous improvement of EHS programs and systems.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Culture 
    ■ Implement and promote BBS (Behaviour-Based Safety) culture.

Accident Prevention, Investigation and Corrective Action
    ■ Develop and maintain EHS programs to prevent occupational accidents and illnesses.                                                                                                                                                          ■ Ensure lessons learned from incidents at other plants are properly applied to EHS programs and contractors.
    ■ Coordinate investigations of occupational accidents and environmental incidents; ensure root causes and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.

EHS Compliance
    ■ Enforce all EHS policies in compliance with local, international, corporate, and other applicable requirements.
    ■ Obtain necessary EHS-related permits and report to authorities and corporate as required by law.

EHS Management System    
    ■ Implement and maintain EHS management systems based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
    ■ Support the EHS internal audit program as an internal auditor.

LOTO program (Lock-Out/Tag-Out)
    ■ Develop plant-specific LOTO procedures and ensure effective implementation for safe machine operation and maintenance.
    ■ Establish and implement LOTO training and certification processes; maintain a list of authorized personnel.

Hazard Work Controls
    ■ Develop and implement permit-to-work systems (e.g., hot work, work at height, confined space entry).
    ■ Develop and maintain a contractor safety program to ensure contractors are well-trained and perform hazardous work in compliance with EHS requirements.
    ■ Develop and implement an electrical safety program to ensure safe use and maintenance of electrical equipment.
    ■ Develop and implement machine and maintenance safety standards; ensure safe practices for high-risk activities and equipment.

Safety Validation
    ■ Establish and maintain a safety validation program for new layouts and newly introduced machines.
    ■ Validate new machine installations and layout changes.

EHS Monitoring
    ■ Conduct routine factory tours.

Fire Protection & Prevention and Emergency Response
    ■ Be knowledgeable in the operation of life support systems, fire detection, and protection systems in collaboration with the Facilities/Utility department.
    ■ Ensure fire alarm systems, extinguishers, sprinklers, and fire pumps are maintained and inspected as planned.
    ■ Manage fire emergency response plans and the Fire Fighting Team (FFT); ensure proper training and conduct annual fire and evacuation drills.

Other Duties
    ■ Implement safety programs for hoists and cranes.
    ■ Support continuous improvement through ergonomic assessments.
    ■ Communicate effectively to raise safety awareness.

 

 

What do we ask from you:

Required Qualifications    
    ■ Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
    ■ Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in EHS roles.
    ■ Certified Safety Officer at the Professional level.
    ■ Experience in fire prevention, protection systems, and emergency response.
    ■ Knowledge of contractor safety and hazardous work permit systems.   
    ■ Hands-on experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, accident/incident investigation, and safety validation.
    ■ Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
    ■ Results-oriented with proactive problem-solving abilities.

Preferable qualifications

    ■ Capable of delivering effective EHS training.
    ■ Skilled in managing change and controlling hazardous work environments.
    ■ Internal auditing experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
    ■ A TOEIC score above 700 or a similar English proficiency test result is preferable.    
    ■ Overseas working experience and/or working experience in a Western company is preferable.
