About the Role:
Wärtsilä is seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) systems and reporting performance throughout the delivery of services, including sub-contractor performance, monitoring, and training. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with relevant occupational health & safety and environmental standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage HSE systems and report performance throughout service delivery, including sub-contractor performance, monitoring, and training. Develop and maintain HSE Management System plans, procedures, and instructions. Conduct regular inspections and site audits to identify potential HSE risks and hazards, and report them. Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health & safety and environmental standards and regulations. Conduct HSE incident investigations and complete incident reports. Coordinate and assist with emergency procedures and periodic emergency drills. Conduct new employee/subcontractor inductions. Complete HSE monthly reporting according to customer requirements. Assist Wärtsilä Site Superintendent with switching and electrical permit requirements and job safety assessments, where required.
Qualifications and Skills:
Effective communication skills. Minimum requirement: Certification 4 in WHS (Work Health & Safety). Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards. Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in the energy sector. Proficiency in computer skills, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Electrical background and/or higher preferred; certification in electrical safety or a related field will be an advantage. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Valid driver's license to allow for travel between locations. Ability to travel.
