Primary Purpose:
Supervise multiple remediation project manager staff potentially with some residing in other locations supporting all business units and legacy liabilities. Responsible for leading and implementation of strategies, various remedial techniques and management of project financials for the Companies various long term state and federal cleanup obligations. Knowledge and experience in various local, state, federal and tribal site cleanup and abatement regulations and programs. Participation in emergency response activities is required. Assist and advise operations management and staff on environmental remediation issues. Collaborate with other remediation Managers to implement efficiencies, consistencies and resource management across the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or natural science field is required.
Experience/specific knowledge:
A minimum of 10+ years of functional experience in site remediation is required.Management, lead, or supervisory experience is preferred.Must demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of federal and multi-state remediation and site cleanup regulations, guidance and programs.Experience in emergency response and follow-up soil and groundwater remediation activities related to releases of petroleum and chemicals.Must be able to interface effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, third parties, contractors, and lawyers.A high level of technical knowledge is required, including the ability to be innovative and creative while utilizing technical resources to address compliance environmental issues.Experience managing large complex projects and portfolios including but not limited to scope, schedules, and budgets.Experience developing budgets and managing forecasts to budgets preferred. An understanding of environmental reserve accounting standards is also preferred.

Maintain a high degree of attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Use knowledge and personal judgment to provide and safeguard written and verbal confidential information.Ability to perform job duties with little supervision.Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.Follow and hold subordinates accountable to all internal and external policies, procedures, laws and regulations applicable to Kinder Morgan.Develop and track KPIs relevant to team and department, analyze trends and lead efforts to develop and implement programs to improve KPIs.Demonstrate proficiency in Company computer applications (MS Suite, Maximo/CAM and SpheraCloud Incident Management).Ability to present key project and portfolio issues to senior leadership.Required to respond to company emergencies during normal office and non-working hours and make necessary agency notifications and provide support as needed.Other daily, weekly and monthly duties along with special projects, as assigned.Availability to work extended hours and travel with short notice in emergency situations.Travel approximately up to 25% with overnight stays.Certifications, licenses, registrations:
Possess and maintain valid driver's license and be insurable by company's insurance carrier.Professional licenses in Geology and/or Engineering, preferred.The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned.
