Purpose of Role: The  EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) Generalist is a seasoned professional dedicated to ensuring safe work environments through the implementation and monitoring of safety procedures. They play a pivotal role in advising employees about potential hazards and informing employers of any noncompliance with safety regulations at our Weir ESCO sites Portland OR.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure Weir Group’s SHE Charter is fully respected via full implementation of internalEnsure full legislative compliance with Title V, 1200z, NESHAP, RCRA, EPCRA, and Clean Air Oregon requirements, while supporting site-wide SHE protocols and procedures.Advise and collaborate with managers, supervisors, and operatives on SHE practices, delivering training from new hire inductions to Weir Zero Harm programs, and ensuring contractor compliance with local laws and Weir standards.Develop and maintain safe work procedures, tools, and programs aligned with Weir Standards; support risk champions in completing risk assessments across all operations.Lead accident and near-miss investigations using the ICAM process, and drive safety and ergonomic improvements through structured problem-solving with the A3 methodology.Conduct audits, inspections, and share best practices across departments to strengthen SHE culture and ensure effective management systems.Prepare tactical SHE plans and track sustainability metrics for site-level and Group-level reporting; represent the company during regulatory inspections and negotiations.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety Culture.


Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required, or a combination of relevant education and equivalent experience.2–5 years of EHS/SHE experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is essential.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Flexible availability to work varied schedules as needed.Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.Preferred qualifications include EHS/SHE-related certifications or licenses, experience with ISO Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and/or 50001), and familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint.
