EHS Engineer

Main responsibilities

1. Safety Management

Conduct a review of the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and ensure that both employees and contractors adhere to compliance standards.Establish and enforce site safety regulations and contractor safety requirements.Conduct regular safety inspections and lead safety committee meetings.Promote Behavior-Based Safety (BBS), Yellow Card programs, and safety campaigns.Act as a first aid team member and support emergency preparedness and drills.

 

2. Contractor & Training Oversight

Manage contractor safety programs and provide safety training.Coordinate and deliver EHS training to employees and contractors.Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

 

3. Legal & Regulatory Compliance

Conduct legal compliance checks and gap analyses for new regulations.Prepare and submit reports required by Thai law (e.g., environmental monitoring, hazardous chemicals, annual drills).Coordinate with external vendors for environmental monitoring and emergency equipment calibration.

 

4. Environmental Management

Perform waste management and disposal in compliance with Thai law and BASF standards.Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification and maintenance.Review environmental risks and opportunities and maintain the environmental management system.

 

5. Emergency Response & Incident Management

Support emergency response planning and drills.Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.Act as deputy secretary for the Management of Change (MOC) committee.

 

6. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain and update EHS documentation, work instructions, and forms.Support internal and external audits and consolidate follow-up actions.Prepare data for annual EHS campaigns and performance reports.

 

7. Cross-functional & External Collaboration

Interface with site management, country EHS, and local industry groups.Support site/plant managers in implementing Responsible Care (RC) standards.Facilitate knowledge sharing and lessons learned across the site.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in safety, health, and environmental fields, or certification as a Safety Officer as required by Thai regulations.Minimum of 3 years of work experience in safety, health, and environmental roles within a production site, preferably in the chemical industry.Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
