Collins Aerospace is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive EHS Compliance Specialist to ensure full regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety laws—with a specific emphasis on Colorado environmental regulations and permitting. The ideal candidate will have extensive understanding of Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) requirements and experience navigating complex state environmental policies.
This role will be instrumental in driving environmental compliance initiatives, auditing internal practices, and ensuring workplace safety standards are met across operations.
**This position will be onsite in Pueblo, CO. Relocation assistance available.**
**What You Will Do**
Environmental Compliance:
+ Ensure compliance with Colorado Air Quality Control Commission (AQCC) regulations, including permitting, reporting, and emissions management.
+ Assist in the management of Colorado Stormwater Discharge Permits, SPCC Plans, and wastewater discharge permits in accordance with local and CDPHE Water Quality Control Division rules.
+ Oversee hazardous and solid waste management to comply with Colorado Hazardous Waste Regulations.
+ Coordinate environmental sampling, monitoring, and reporting requirements as mandated by state permits and CDPHE directives.
+ Review legislative and regulatory updates from Colorado General Assembly and CDPHE to assess business impact.
+ Support EH&S compliance assurance audits by RTX, Collins Aerospace, or regulatory agencies for assigned programs.
+ Develop and manage compliance strategies to minimize and mistake proof regulatory compliance risks, including onsite visual inspections and audits.
Health & Safety Compliance:
+ Monitor and enforce compliance with Corporate, local, State and OSHA Occupational Safety and Health Rules.
+ Conduct workplace safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
+ Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analyses for environmental and safety events.
+ Develop and deliver EHS training programs tailored to Colorado regulatory requirements and company policies.
Documentation & Reporting:
+ Maintain accurate records of inspections, permits, reports, and corrective actions.
+ Prepare and submit environmental reports to CDPHE, EPA, and local agencies, as required.
+ Support corporate, third-party audits, inspections, and regulatory visits.
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
+ EHS compliance experience, preferably in manufacturing, chemical, energy, or industrial sectors.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Work, Excel, PowerPoint)
**Qualifications We Prefer**
+ Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) credentials.
+ Prior experience working directly with Colorado regulatory agencies.
+ Experience with federal EHS laws (e.g., RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, CERCLA).
+ Proven experience with regulatory reporting tools and EHS management systems (e.g., Enablon, Sphera, or similar).
+ In-depth knowledge of Colorado-specific environmental regulations, including CDPHE air, water, and waste programs.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
