POSITION SUMMARY
The EEG Technician conducts and records routine EEGs in a PPG office setting.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise*
1. Performs routine EEGs on all patients independently as ordered by physicians.
2. Able to scan routine EEG records independently.
3. Acts as resource person for other techs. Attends education classes to train other techs on various aspects of EEG.
4. Obtains pertinent patient history as required.
5. Schedules, plans, and reviews all testing with respect to clinical urgency and patient load.
6. Prepares patient in office lab for testing.
7. Prepares test results and reports for physician interpretation.
8. Participates in seminars, technical meetings, in-service education, and reviews current articles in field.
9. Edits and archives tests as needed.
10. Performs billing functions within EHR.
11. Preforms troubleshooting for machine problems with BioMed and manufacturer.
12. Participates in on-call rotation and cross campus rotation if needed.
13. Travels to satellite offices as needed based upon the for demand for testing.
14. Performs other duties within office if the EEG schedule is not full. (MA, PSC, etc.).
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
