**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Position responsibilities: EEG Specific · Obtains pertinent patient data through interview and assessment of patient · Prepares patient for testing: Explains procedure, applies electrodes, and calibrates equipment · Monitors patient continuously during testing to ensure comfort and compliance with testing requirements · Measures and records impulse frequencies on graph to assist be used by physician in diagnosing brain disorders · Monitors quality of recording, and makes appropriate adjustments to minimize artifact and enhance data capture · Documents observations through technical notes on recording, and in Electronic Medical Record. · Communicates critical findings directly to ordering/interpreting physician(s) · Performs clerical duties such as maintaining patient logs and records, charting reports, and billing of procedures · Performs general cleaning, maintenance and calibration of all electroneuro diagnostic equipment · Maintains inventory and organizes supplies
· Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities · Orients and mentors new staff members · Assists with transporting patients · Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required · Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to HCA’s Code of Conduct through participation in annual training EKG Specific · Performs electrocardiograph, 24 hour, Holter Monitor, Cardiac Stress Test and other diagnostic testing as required. · Confers with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. · Monitors and documents test results for physician review. · Notifies cardiologists of significant scan deviations that may require immediate attention to the patient · Cleans and maintains equipment · Participates in ensuring adequate level of supplies · Records, charges, copies and charts test results · Utilizes knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities. · Assists in patient transport · Orients and mentors new staff members · Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required · Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to HCA’s Code of Conduct through participation in annual training
**What qualifications you will need:**
Essential educational/licensure, skills and experience:
· Training typically acquired through on-job training under the supervision of an experienced technician, or specialized certification in performance of EEG testing.
· Experience typically acquired through 6 or more months of hands-on patient testing
· Current Certification in BLS upon hire and maintained throughout employment with Terre Haute Regional Hospital
