The Education Coordinator position will identify and analyze Minnesota's Internet safety and education training needs. The position will develop new training programs and procedures for disseminating training programs that meet ongoing needs. The position conducts training that pertains to Internet safety and education to outside clientele and employees of Public Safety. The position works closely with Criminal Justice trainers from other state agencies to develop and deliver coordinated, community-wide training.
The position will also assist the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) Commander, Criminal Intelligence Analysts and Agents of the Predatory Crimes Section. This position is located at our St. Paul headquarters and will have the option of teleworking up to two (2) days per week.
The Department of Public Safety is unable to provide sponsorship for work visas. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States at the start of employment. DPS does not participate in E-Verify.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ One (1) year of professional work experience organizing, developing, and delivering training.
+ Public speaking and presentation experience to a variety of audiences.
+ Business grammar and spelling are sufficient to read and write messages, instructions, and other materials.
+ Communicate orally and in writing sufficient to provide information to visitors and staff.
+ Complete work accurately and in a timely manner.
+ Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to follow directions/procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Extensive public speaking experience to large audiences as well as small classrooms to a variety of age groups up to community engagements.
+ Working with law enforcement and other community partners.
+ Knowledge of ICAC and other internet safety programs.
+ Familiarity with Safe Harbor, to include Sexual Exploitation of Minors, and Human Trafficking.
**Physical Requirements**
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require positioning self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
