This pivotal role is dedicated to designing and implementing high-quality statewide initiatives specifically within these critical content areas, directly supporting our overarching mission to advance exceptional teaching and learning in every Louisiana classroom. By empowering educators with essential tools, resources, and guidance in science and environmental education, you'll play a crucial part in fostering student success. Minimum Qualifications Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As an Education Consultant 3, you'll be a driving force in advancing K-12 science and environmental education across Louisiana, directly impacting students and educators statewide. In this dynamic role, you can expect to: + Spend time reviewing high-quality K-12 science and environmental education curriculum and instructional materials, ensuring they align with state standards and best practices, and creating instructional resources and professional learning to support educators. + Engage regularly with district and school educators, providing guidance and support to implement effective science and environmental education programs. This includes assisting in the management of teacher leader advisors and external contractors. + Act as a go-to resource and state leader in science and environmental education, maintaining an in-depth, current knowledge of standards, curriculum, and instructional practices. You'll use this expertise to inform projects that will impact various stakeholders in education. + Work closely with colleagues across the Division of Academic Content and other LDOE teams, as well as external partners, to ensure cohesive and impactful initiatives. Your week will involve significant collaboration to deliver consistent messages and strategies to the field. + Juggle multiple projects and work streams simultaneously, overseeing the development and execution of programs that elevate science and environmental education outcomes for all students. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected. Work Schedule:Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
