Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: As an Education Consultant 3, you'll be a driving force in advancing K-12 science and environmental education across Louisiana, directly impacting students and educators statewide. In this dynamic role, you can expect to: + Spend time reviewing high-quality K-12 science and environmental education curriculum and instructional materials, ensuring they align with state standards and best practices, and creating instructional resources and professional learning to support educators. + Engage regularly with district and school educators, providing guidance and support to implement effective science and environmental education programs. This includes assisting in the management of teacher leader advisors and external contractors. + Act as a go-to resource and state leader in science and environmental education, maintaining an in-depth, current knowledge of standards, curriculum, and instructional practices. You'll use this expertise to inform projects that will impact various stakeholders in education. + Work closely with colleagues across the Division of Academic Content and other LDOE teams, as well as external partners, to ensure cohesive and impactful initiatives. Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office.
