We’re looking for an Education Consultant 3 to lead statewide initiatives supporting the Jump Start program, NCCER monitoring, high-wage high-demand credential attainment, CTE program development, the Career Development Fund, Registered Apprenticeships, and the Agriculture Education Commission. This role is central to shaping the future of career and technical education in Louisiana by providing technical assistance to school systems, managing key funding streams, and expanding student access to industry-valued credentials and career-aligned training.

Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in program or policy development related to Career and Technical Education, including Jump Start pathways, industry-based credentials, and/or registered apprenticeships
+ Knowledge of Louisiana’s graduation pathways, including TOPS University and TOPS Tech
+ Familiarity with NCCER certification standards and credentialing processes
+ Demonstrated success in cross-sector collaboration with K-12, postsecondary, and industry stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As an Education Consultant 3, you will lead and support statewide efforts to strengthen Louisiana’s career and technical education landscape, with a focus on high-wage, high-demand credentials. In this role, you will:
+ Oversee implementation and monitoring of NCCER programs and Registered Apprenticeships across school systems
+ Support and monitor schools in accessing and using Career Development Funds to expand CTE programming
+ Serve as the program manager for CDF, NCCER, Registered Apprenticeships, the primary contact for the Agriculture Education Commission, and the implementation expert in skilled trades
+ Coordinate trainings and technical assistance related to credentialing, site certification, and program alignment
+ Evaluate program data, conduct site visits, and ensure compliance with policy and credentialing standards
+ Collaborate with internal LDOE teams and external stakeholders to advance credential access and program quality statewide
+ Develop and disseminate clear, policy-aligned resources and guidance to school systems and partners
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Work Schedule: Work hours are Monday - Friday. Work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate of $28.97 hourly, $2317.20 biweekly that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions. The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career andnot the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire .
