Your ‘day to day’

 

As an Editor-in-Chief & Publications Management, you will oversee and guide the development and execution of global scientific publication plans and strategies with the ultimate mission to maintain and maximize the scientific credibility of PMI science. This includes developing strategies to widen the circle of journals available for publication, to PMI to further enhance dissemination of PMI science to the appropriate scientific audience in high quality peer reviewed journals and build and maintain the relationship with leading scientific publishing houses and journals. Furthermore, you will be responsible to set the vision and strategic positioning of PMI publication plan in alignment with corporate business strategy, as well as oversee the development of high-quality manuscripts, systematic reviews, congress presentations, and scientific platforms that ensure effective dissemination of the company's scientific information. You will engage internally and externally to stay updated on the company's scientific assets and lead the publication team in developing compliant, high-quality content and impactful publication plans. In that context with, staying informed about the latest scientific publications on smoke-free products from third parties is crucial. In addition, you will lead a team of medical writers, editors, and publication managers, overseeing the creation of scientific content, and ensuring alignment with the company's research strategy and organizational goals.

 

More specifically, you'll

 

Build, develop and maintain relationship with editors to expand the portfolio of targeted journals/conferences to increase the impact and reach of the publication plan.Develop and implement comprehensive publication strategies across various scientific areas (e.g., aerosol chemistry, non-clinical toxicology, clinical studies, real-world evidence studies) in line with the company's research strategy.Maintain and build up to date knowledge on the latest scientific evidence from third partiesRepresent publication strategies to senior leadership and other teams.Lead a team of medical writers, editors, publication managers and provide training and development opportunities.Develop and implement internal scientific communication tools (e.g., newsletters, scientific highlights) and strategy for literature surveillance and scientific intelligence.Provide scientific support to the communication team in developing scientific communications.Lead relationships with vendors and oversee budget allocation Oversee the creation of manuscripts, congress presentations, scientific platforms, and other scientific communication materials, ensuring high-quality, scientifically accurate, and timely execution, partnering with cross-functional teams and external agenciesEnsure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of all publication materials in alignment with good publication practices.Engage with internal and external specialists for content development.Ensure to monitor and analyze the publication landscape to identify gaps and opportunities (e.g., sentiment analysis, competitor analyses, identification of emerging trends).Maintain and develop internal quality management processes for publication plans from concept to execution. 

 

Who we’re looking for

 

PhD or equivalent in Life Science, Medicine, related field, or equivalent experience.Demonstrated successful / senior editorial & research experience in top publishing companies.Certified medical publication professional credential from international Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) or equivalent Minimum 8 years’ experience in scientific communications and publication planning within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.Sound expertise leading large, global publication plan projects including experience in publishing observational studies, registry data, clinical studies.Demonstrated critical scientific thinking, attention to detail, writing skills scientific data analysis and interpretation, and understanding complex statistical concepts related to clinical research and real-world research.Sound experience conducting systematic literature review.Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize.Strong people management skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority.Experience working with cross-functional teams and leading external vendors.Knowledge of industry standards and regulations governing scientific publications (e.g., GPP, ICMJE, PhRMA).Advanced computer and internet skills (e.g. electronic publication management tools, reference databases, VEEVA, right find) and artificial intelligence.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
