The role is located in Chicago, New York, or Washington D.C.. This will be a hybrid schedule.
Senior Associate or Director level will be determined throughout the interview process.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Director to join our dynamic eDiscovery team. This role will serve as the primary point of contact and Bright Labs' day-to-day leader in the management and execution of billing processes for eDiscovery engagements.
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate billing setup for eDiscovery projects, including up-to-date records of all billing-related information.
Review and finalize draft invoices for eDiscovery projects, including:
Collaborate with project teams to ensure all billable project time is captured and properly reflected.
Review and revise narratives consistent with time-keeping best practices and/or client specific billing requirements.
Confirm the accuracy of hourly rates, unit fees, and quantities.
Resolve billing-related issues.
Review and approve final invoices.
Distribute final invoices to clients directly or through Ankura’s Billing team.
Track payment and contact clients for overdue invoices, ensuring timely collection of payments.
Generate reports on billing status and other relevant metrics for internal stakeholders.
Ensure all billing activities comply with Ankura policies and procedures.

Requirements:
BA/BS in MIS, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Law, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, or similar degree.
4 years of prior professional experience overseeing complex billing and invoicing.
Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills
Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to interact confidently with senior management and lawyers/partners
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, Colorado, or New York, Ankura is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $85k to $200k; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
