Position Summary
The Echocardiogram Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to assess heart structure and function. This position plays a critical role in diagnosing cardiac conditions using echocardiographic equipment. Echocardiogram Technologist will integrate scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.
Primary Position Responsibilities
1. Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) as ordered.
2. Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
3. Review orders, explain procedure, answer questions and provide a high level of patient satisfaction.
4. Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality cardiac images and videos.
5. Analyze preliminary images to ensure adequate quality and appropriate views.Record and document patient data, including preliminary test results, for interpretation by physicians.
6. Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring functionality and cleanliness.
7. Follow HIPAA guidelines, uphold patient confidentiality and follow all National Patient Safety Goals.
8. Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare team members.
9. Assist with patient scheduling and workflow coordination.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and Graduate of an Accredited School of Echocardiography
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field of Study

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - ARDMS Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - CCI
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
Proficient in echocardiographic imaging techniques. Strong attention to detail and image quality. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
