Echo Technologist
**Responsibilities** + Perform cardiovascular ultrasound procedures, including M-Mode, 2-D, Color Flow Doppler, Stress/echo (TM and pharmaceutical), and Transesophageal Echo. + Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and provide them with relevant information. + Document sampling for permanent records and physician analysis. + Promptly report significant findings to physicians. + Administer parenteral contrast agents and oral/parenteral pharmaceutical agents (after appropriate training and at the direction of the physician). + Maintain equipment and supplies, promptly reporting any malfunctions. + Maintain accurate logs of echo studies performed and charges. + Participate in outreach activities and assist with other Heart Station Services as indicated. + Serve as a preceptor for in-training cardiovascular ultrasound technicians. + Contribute to a congenial work environment and provide in-service programs to nursing and other departments as needed. **Qualifications** + Minimum of two years of college with emphasis in medical sciences and mathematics. + Verifiable completion of 18 contact hours of in-service/continuing education in clinical Echocardiography upon hire. + Meets minimal qualifications for eligibility for registration as an Echocardiographic Technician. + Working knowledge of physics as applied to ultrasound, cardiovascular and thoracic anatomy, and equipment/instrumentation for recording and display of echocardiographic studies. + Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification within 30 days of hire **Licensure/Certification (Required within 12 months of hire):** + Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI (RCS) + Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) + Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) **Preferred Qualifications:** Minimum of three years of clinical experience in cardiovascular ultrasound. **Overview** **Make a Difference in Patient Care with a Leading Healthcare System** CommonSpirit Health, one of the nation's largest nonprofit Catholic healthcare organizations, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Echo Technologist to join our team.
