RVT: $7,000Senior VA: $5,000Key Responsibilities: ER
Triage incoming patientsMonitor critical and fractious patientsAdminister treatments and medicationsAssist with diagnostic tests and emergency proceduresEnsure patient comfort and wellbeingCommunicate effectively with pet ownersMaintain equipment and suppliesDocument patient care accuratelyEngage in ongoing education and trainingCCU:You will play a crucial role in partnering with our CCU doctors, providing top-notch customer experiences, and delivering outstanding patient care.
Your day-to-day tasks will involve:
Monitor vital signs (heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation)Administer and adjust oxygen therapy (oxygen cage, nasal cannula, etc.)Assess and manage patient pain and comfortTurn, reposition, and provide supportive care to recumbent or post-surgical patientsPlace and maintain IV catheters, central lines, and urinary cathetersCollect blood samples (jugular, cephalic, saphenous, arterial)Administer IV fluids, medications, and continuous rate infusions (CRIs)Perform and interpret point-of-care diagnostics (blood gas, lactate, i-STAT)Respond to emergencies and participate in CPRAssist with emergency procedures (thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis)Triage incoming patients and communicate condition severityCollaborate with criticalists, ER doctors, and the veterinary teamPrepare for and assist with diagnostic imaging (radiographs, ultrasound, CT/MRI)Run and interpret in-house laboratory tests (CBC, chemistry, coag panels)Collect and process lab samples (urine, feces, cytology, cultures)Maintain accurate and timely medical records and treatment sheetsCommunicate patient status updates to doctors and support staffUpdate clients on patient condition as directed by DVMsMonitor anesthesia and assist with surgical recovery in critical casesKeep patients clean, dry, and comfortableProvide enrichment for long-term or neurologically impaired patientsAdvocate for patient pain management and quality of lifeStock and maintain emergency supplies and equipment (crash carts, ventilators, syringe pumps)Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity in the CCUDemonstrate calmness under pressure and emotional resilienceApply strong critical thinking and multitasking skillsCollaborate effectively with team membersShow compassion and empathy toward patients and clientsWork Schedule:

High school diploma3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industryAbility to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasksMaintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)CA-RVT license preferred but not requiredBenefits:
