Job Description

Within the Technical Direction Team, as EC&I Team Leader you will involve leading the EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) team and carrying out assigned processes in electrical engineering, automation, control, and instrumentation, while ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements, deadlines, and budgets.

As a EC&I Team Leader, your main tasks will be to:

 

Manage the team's workload and oversee the adherence to communicated deadlines for projects.

Manage and ensure compliance with the order of priorities chosen by the Solys management team.

Provide technical support during the manufacturing phase and to clients when required.

Modify and update the electrical and control system design to adapt to specific projects.

Update electrical schematics and documentation for the manufacturing of the electrical panel.

Provide instrumentation recommendations (electrical part of instrumentation) and understanding of wiring.

Program PLC and HMI to meet process requirements or project changes.

Support commissioning (locally in the workshop for FAT and occasionally on site), and occasionally perform the complete FAT.

Update documentation related to the electrical and control parts.

Diagnose and analyze malfunctions of installations and/or equipment.

Lead and train the EC&I team in Spain.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Automatic Engineering (or a related field such as Electrical Engineering, Automation, or Control Engineering).

6-8 years of professional experience in similar roles involving PLC project execution and PLC & Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design engineering.

Proficiency in PLC programming languages including Structured Text (ST), Ladder Diagram (LD), and Function Block Diagrams (FDB), which are among the most popular IEC 61131-3 languages used in industrial automation.

Experience with Siemens control and instrumentation software packages such as WinCC and TIA Portal, as well as Codesys and Allen Bradley tools (FT View, Studio5000), plus electrical drawing software like Eplan.

English language skills at a minimum B2 level (intermediate upper), commonly required for engineering roles and international projects, often demonstrated by certifications such as IELTS (≥5.5), TOEFL (≥72), or Cambridge FCE or higher.

The possibility to compensate for lack of formal academic qualifications with extensive relevant experience is recognized in the field, though a degree remains highly preferred or required for many engineering positions.
