The Early Childhood Education Engagement Support Specialist will work in partnership with teachers, administrators and parents to develop center-based quality improvement plans. Help guide and provide hands on support to teaching staff so they can achieve their professional goals. Designing and delivering effective training as needed. Improve the performance of our child care facility by fostering employees self-value and confidence, boosting collaboration and creating consistent productivity. Look at the center-wide teaching strategies statistic to see where we can learn and growth in our daily strategies. Help staff with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies Gold and implement the children’s development into their lesson plans. Conduct observations using ECERS and ITERS and build achievable goals to get us to the next level of STARS to Quality. An Early Childhood Education Engagement Support Specialist will welcome all new families by providing new orientation. This position will be in charge of center events. Partner with resource agencies, families and teachers to help meet the children developmental needs. This position will be sending out center-wide communication and monthly newsletters to families. Help with daily tasks as needed from the director and assistant director which will include but not limited to Procare, answering the phone, updated files, updating center information.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Understanding of requirements/criteria for the STARS to Quality Program, Accreditation Standards, Child Care Licensing, Health Department and Fire Department and how to help guide teachers to implement practices. Experience working in an early childhood setting, preferably with a focus on coaching or mentoring. Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices. Strong Communications, interpersonal, and training skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or equivalent experience.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: American Heart Association: Heart Saver CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification required to be completed in first 30 days of employment and to be kept current thereafter. Current on the Montana Early Childhood Project: Practitioner Registry within 15 days of hire required. Infant Safety Essentials within 30 days and Early Childhood Essentials, New Staff Health and Safety Orientation, and Together We Grow within 90 days of hire required. Complete the mandatory 16 hours of annual training and stay current with all St. Peter’s Health and State Child Care Licensing required immunizations required.
Aptitudes: Ability to accurately observe and assess classroom environments and teacher-child interactions. Ability to build strong relationships and effective communicate with diverse audiences. Ability to identify and address challenges as needed.
