The Cyert Center at Carnegie Mellon University is a full-day early care and education program serving the children of our faculty, staff and students. Founded in 1971, we have grown from a program of 13 children to our current enrollment of 290 children across two centers. We are currently hiring **Early Childhood Educators** to join the Cyert Center. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate a strong passion for early childhood education, and the ability to collaborate with others. **Core responsibilities will include:** + Educating and caring for young children, encouraging their individual growth and development. + Organizing a cohesive program and communicates the Center’s philosophy (Reggio Emilia Approach and Developmentally Appropriate Practice). + Assisting in creating a curriculum that uses inquiry-based teaching strategies with an emphasis on collaborative learning. + Adhering to The Department of Human Services licensing regulations and The National Association for the Education of Young Children’s accreditation standards. + Developing regular, ongoing, two-way communication with parents about children’s experiences, development, and learning, and participates in planning, organization, and dialogue/presentation for parent meetings. + Committing to best practices and continued professional development and growth, earning twenty-four (24) hours of required professional development annually. + Other duties as assigned.
