Abilities Network, a multiple year winner of the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplace award, is looking for an Early Childhood Coach to work in their Project ACT program. Project ACT serves Maryland’s early childhood community to promote high quality care for all children through training and coaching. Early Childhood Coaches provide training and technical assistance and provide supportive and high quality assistance to address concerns and work cooperatively with child care programs to address the needs of programs serving children under age 6 as well as out of school time programs.

The annual starting salary for this position is $45,000 and is non-negotiable.
What will I do at Abilities Network?
Assist child care centers, family child care homes and other child serving programs to implement universal strategies that promote a high quality child care environment, support programs with the Maryland EXCELS program.Provide needed connections with resources to support participation and advancement through the levels of EXCELS.Serve as a coach and mentor to early childhood educators to support the creation of developmentally appropriate settings and implementation strategies for the purpose of supporting all children. RequirementsWhat does Abilities Network need from me?
BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Psychology or a related field.A minimum of 4 years’ experience working with children under age 6 and their families in an early childhood program.Coursework in curriculum and child development.Group training experience.Fluency in Spanish preferred.Competencies and Qualifications:
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and organizational skills.Use of independent judgement and discretion.Excellent decision-making and leadership skills to train and mentor staff, and interpret program policy.Comfortable with all types of technology i.e. proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Self-motivated and results driven.Maintains flexible and collaborative work ethic.Knowledge of child care systems including Maryland EXCELS, accreditation, environmental rating scales and training requirements.Abilities Network offers eligible employees a comprehensive benefits packaging including:
