Are you a student with excellent technical and analytical skills looking to gain professional experience as part of an industry- leading team? Are you motivated to achieve tangible outcomes for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions? Our PathWise Solutions Group (PSG) business is looking for an analyst intern.
This is a 4-month internship opportunity with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto office.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like
+ Support the logic implementation for client models including actuarial related topics such as liabilities, assets, and economic scenario generators.
+ Support performance and benchmark testing for client models and recommend ways to better optimize model performance.
+ Support model reconciliations and investigations; provide detailed analysis regarding the impacts or implications of model changes tying them to actuarial context.
+ Troubleshoot issues as they arise during PathWise migrations, focusing on providing a strong initial user experience.
+ Collaborate with team members to develop, enhance, and automate processes, ensuring efficient workflows and a robust control environment.
+ Prepare and participate in demonstrations to potential clients.
+ Demonstrate flexibility by taking on additional responsibilities as required by the team to support overall objectives and changing business needs.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ Full time students working towards a master’s or bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and complete assigned projects.
+ Strong technical skills and problem-solving ability
+ Excellent collaboration skills across different teams and clients
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office is required. Experience with Python, and other actuarial software is highly preferred.
+ Experience with prior internships or co-ops in the Life Insurance industry is preferred.
+ Actively pursuing Associateship or Fellowship within the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and/or Society of Actuaries
