Position Summary: An enrichment specialist plans and implements programs to help students develop their skills and knowledge beyond the standard curriculum. They may work with students of all ages, from elementary to middle and high school. Enrichment programs can help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and social interaction skills.

Requirements / Qualifications

Primary Role and Responsibilities: Creating programs that use higher-level thinking skills and problem-solving techniques Communicating with parents and administrators: Keeping parents and building principals informed about student progress and classroom activities Supporting students: Providing individualized learning activities and whole group practices Build positive and professional relationships with coworkers, supervisors, ProYouth executive and administrative staff, site principal, teachers, and parents Participation in professional development, staff meetings, site training, and professional learning communities Support and demonstrate commitment to the ProYouth vision and goals at all times Be a positive role model and lead through mentoring and coaching students Link activities with positive youth development outcomes Focus on Common Core expectations by providing ongoing opportunities for students to work collaboratively, solve problems, make decisions, and think critically Use positive discipline rather than punitive approaches Work closely with all colleagues to develop a high-performing team Use conversation, group discussion, games, academic coaching, behavior management techniques, and other approaches to achieve prescribed goals Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all matters relating to students Comply with ProYouth Employee Handbook and other Policies and Procedures Other duties as assigned within the scope and range of training and knowledge base

Education and Experience: A bachelor’s Degree is preferred High School diploma or equivalent AND 48 completed College Units OR NCLB Paraprofessional Certification A minimum of two years’ experience working with youth is desirable
