Required Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Texas Teacher CertificationDyslexia Certificate of Training, e.g. MTA, Take Flight, Reading Horizons, or similar dyslexia instruction programs)Residency Requirement: This position is virtual and strongly prefer residents of Texas. May consider residents of surrounding states (NM, OK, AR or LA). This position could include travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.

The Dyslexia Teacher supports students in teaching and meeting their goals and manages the overall learning process for students with IEP/504 dyslexia eligibility.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
Provide dyslexia instruction to identified students;Collaborate with students and learning coaches on implementation of IEP/504 plans;Evaluate and review student progress on a regular basis throughout the school year, and annually;Input student data in appropriate systems and maintain other student records as needed in a compliant manner;Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, professional development (virtual and face-to-face) and school committees.Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education or similar area of study ANDThree (3) years of related work experience OREquivalent combination of education and experienceOTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of applicable sections of the state education laws and other pertinent regulations;Communicates effectively both orally and in writing;Demonstrates the use of good judgment in decision-making;Strong organizational and time management skills;Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as Internet research methods and report writing techniques; utilizes computer software associated with curriculum;Ability to travel 20% time for work including meetings, supporting in-person testing and professional development;Ability to clear required background check including obtain fingerprint clearance where applicableDESIRED Qualifications:
