DXC Assure Reinsurance - Sr Analyst

Job Description:

Join DXC Technology as a Software Engineer supporting the development and modernisation of our enterprise-grade reinsurance administration platform: DXC Assure Reinsurance (formerly SICS). You will be responsible for analysing user requirements and then designing, building, and testing software applications to satisfy those requirements. This role is ideal for individuals with moderate to strong experience in backend Java development, microservices, and cloud-native engineering, particularly within enterprise or financial services environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyse user requirements and translate them into robust, scalable software solutions within the DXC Assure Reinsurance (SICS) platform.

Design, develop, and maintain critical software components using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud in a Microservices architecture.

Build and enhance RESTful APIs that integrate seamlessly with other systems and services.

Work with cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS, to deploy and support applications in production environments.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets business needs.

Participate in architectural design sessions, code reviews, and testing efforts to maintain software quality and performance.

Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and contribute to automated testing and deployment.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performing root cause analysis and providing timely solutions.

Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team to foster a collaborative working environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Moderate to strong hands-on experience developing software in Java, with proficiency in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Microservices.

Proven experience designing, developing, and consuming REST APIs.

Working knowledge of AWS cloud services and cloud-native application design principles.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, and automation testing frameworks.

Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities within Agile development environments.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, ideally with platforms such as SICS or DXC Assure.

Familiarity with ACORD standards and reinsurance-specific workflows like treaty management and retrocession.

Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.

Relevant certifications in Java development, AWS, or DevOps tools are a plus.

Experience with cloud modernisation and legacy system migration.
