**Job Description:**
**JOB SUMMARY**
The Durable Medical Equipment Technologist provides respiratory care services to patients in accordance with the provider’s direction. This individual will educate patients about the use of Durable Medical Equipment (Sleep PAP devices) and disseminating the appropriate supplies.
**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**
**EDUCATION**
_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._
**Minimum Required:** Successful completion of an accredited program resulting in an associate degree with emphasis in polysomnography or respiratory care.
**Preferred/Optional:** None
**EXPERIENCE**
**Minimum Required:** One year experience as a registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT).
**Preferred/Optional:** One year working/providing assistance with Durable Medical Equipment, sleep related equipment.
**CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES**
_The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._
**Minimum Required:**
+ Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Technician (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
+ Respiratory Care Practitioner License in an applicable state, if applicable.
+ Valid driver’s license in an applicable state with acceptable driving record.
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
**Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
