Job DescriptionTelemundo 51 and NBC 6 are looking for a Multiplatform Manager who can craft and execute a strategy to grow our audience on all digital platforms. We are looking for a strong, bilingual journalist who will coordinate our multiplatform efforts to ensure editorial consistency across text, video and social content.
The first priority for this role is to ensure breaking news is quickly and accurately published with push alerts. This person will collaborate with other news managers to identify, assign and approve the best content in both Spanish and English every day on all platforms. We are looking for someone to can balance breaking news, daily general assignment news and original content production.
The Multiplatform Manager makes sure all stories have video and are shared on social media following each platform’s strategy. This person also curates the home page/app according to key metrics and monitors the best implementation of SEO practices.
The multiplatform manager also manages our growth strategy for all KPIs in text, video and OTT as well as the social media strategy on all appropriate platforms. This role coordinates the multiplatform strategy with and reports to the VP of News for both stations.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee daily strategies to increase site traffic for both stations through story selection, original content, social media and push alerts.Analyze analytics to develop and execute strategies to increase key metrics.Attend Telemundo 51 and NBC 6 daily editorial meeting as well as Duopoly planning meetings to determine best digital strategies.Assign original content and coordinate with reporters and producers with clear digital expectations.Copy edit and approve content published to Telemundo 51 and NBC 6 digital properties.Manage both homepages and collections, improve headlines, thumbnails and SEO, updates the trending bar. Create and update special pages for relevant events like Hurricane season or other TV specials beyond the newscasts.Collaborate with Telemundo and NBC national teams on content and initiatives to ensure best practices.Write and translate content, post social media and promotional spots.Monitor news sources including Google Trends and social media for story ideas.Makes sure bylines, tags and SEO are used correctly.Make sure all stories are promoted on social media using best practices.Develop a pool of original evergreen content to be published when needed.Manage schedules, approve time-off, training, feedback, performance reviews for the multiplatform team.Collaborate with Creative Services on promotional efforts.Coordinate with the EP of Streaming for live opportunities of breaking news or scheduled programs. Manage and implement the social media growth strategy for all social media accounts in both languages.Approve and copy edit video scripts for grammar, clarity, accuracy, creativity and adherence to NBC Universal legal and standards guidelines.Supervise curation of content on OTT apps.Rotate on-call weekend duties with other news managers.QualificationsB.A. degree or equivalent in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field.Minimum of five years storytelling experience.Minimum one year of management experience.Bilingual Spanish/English both written and spoken.Must possess strong journalistic skills, have ability to write and edit broadcast and digital copy.Creative approach to storytelling and problem solving.Ability to make priority decisions under deadlines.Must be self-directed, highly organized and detail oriented.Must function well in a fast paced, multi-cultural environment.Must have a valid Driver’s License.Requirements:
