Your role
Support of the global sustainability team as well as the local departments in Germany on sustainability issues.
Global:
Identification, development of a management system for sustainability requirements in customer contracts, technical documentationSupport with periodic sustainability reporting (annual sustainability report, monthly or quarterly reporting)Assisting with the coordination of regular ESG-related activities and disclosures across the organization (e.g. SEC climate risk disclosures, EU Taxonomy and CSRD etc.).Assisting in the preparation of non-financial information reported in customer and investor questionnaires and surveysHelping facilitate audits from internal and external auditors, serving as a liaison for any ESG-related assurance work.Support management and due diligence actions to assess and validate Aptiv’s ESG related policies and progress for external disclosureGermany:
In addition to the core sustainability team responsibilities, supporting other functional departments (e.g. engineering, finance, manufacturing or HR) in related sustainability initiatives including:
Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Sustainability Statement for the German legal entity as part of the annual financial statementFurther development of the employee engagement survey (develop action items based on the survey results to improve the working environment)Conduct deep dives into cost-reduction opportunities through sustainability reviews, such as waste disposal and energy consumptionInvestigate sustainability metrics such as plastic bag usage, material scrap, and explore potential alternativesEvaluate Aptiv products from a sustainability perspectiveContribute ideas for new business models for Aptiv products (e.g., pay-per-use, recycling concepts)Your background
Bachelor's degree in business, technology, environment or (possibly with preparation) law and social affairs.Problem-solving skills and attention to detailCommunication skills in English and German, both written and verbalAbility to develop relationships cross-functionally and cooperate with people in all regionsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work effectively under time pressureSelf-starter, with ability to organize own work, operate autonomouslyComputer skills - MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Master Sustainability Management (M.Sc.) at Cologne Business School (CBS)
CBS Master program in sustainability enables students to:
