Drum Group Leader

Primary Purpose \n

Guides and monitors staff, equipment, and workload to ensure safety and timely completion of processes and projects.\n

Essential Functions and Responsibilities \n\nEnsures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.\nSchedules, plans and directs employees in their assigned tasks ensuing production goals are met in an efficient manner.\nEnsures all employees are working in a safe manner with any prescribed safety equipment required by company policy.\nTrains new employees in company and department procedures and monitors adherence.\nInterfaces with other areas and departments to insure a smooth flow of product through the treatment cycle.\nMonitors equipment assigned to area and notifies maintenance of major breakdowns.\nResponsible for the unloading and loading of wastes in conformance to company rules and regulations.\nCheck-in inbound drum manifests into the MMS system.\nMay perform PM and inspections on operating equipment.\nLoad, unload and sample solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state and local regulations\/rules.\nOperate a fork truck with attachments.\nCheck for inconsistencies with manifested types and quantities with actual containers received in accordance with Company rules and regulations.\nProperly maintain satellite and 90 accumulation containers.\nPerform basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed.\nPerform chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues.\nUtilize barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities.\nReview waste stream quotation data to determine proper handling of materials.\nUse DOT knowledge to match and label inbound materials and for storage and shipping of containers to other sites.\nUse proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks.\nResponsible for keeping work areas, walls, pipes and floor in a clean and safe condition.\nUtilize knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulations.\nUnderstand Heritage Coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers.\nPosition handles hazardous materials and will often require use of PPE: Boots, Gloves, Suits, Eye\/Ear Protection and Respirator\nMay participate in hiring, performance evaluation, discipline, promotions, and termination decisions.\n\n

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.\n

Experience: If internal, 1-3 years of Heritage Plant Operations experience. External, 1-3 years Industrial facility leadership\/supervisory experience required.\n

Knowledge and Abilities: This is a safety sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function.
Ability to understand RCRA compliance standards and OSHA safety regulations. Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirator. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.\n

A post offer drug screen will be required.\n
