Key Responsibilities:
• Perform over the road driver skills assessments (pre and post hire).
• Assist in driver orientations both in truck and classroom.
• Assist in remedial training.
• Perform and observed behavior assessments (in cab and remote).
• Train and assist drivers Post Incident.
• Help to implement new programs and ways to improve the program.
• Ensure all road tests are completed to our standards and compliance.
• Attend all company required meetings.
• Determine appropriate instructional methods.
• Assist in the development of training material.
• Additional responsibilities and tasks are required when asked.
• Provide support to new and current driver group.
Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with the Microsoft programs and operating systems.
• Full understanding of MTO and DOT Regulations as well as the Highway Traffic Act.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving skills.
• Hands-on attitude with a can-do attitude wanting to succeed in the role.
• Self-motivated and can work at a fast pace.
• Able to operate a variety of commercial vehicles with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Able to operate both manual and automatic shifting transmissions.
• Waste industry experience is an asset.
• Able to adjust to a dynamic schedule.
• General Education Diploma Required.
• Minimum 10 years OTR driving experience.
• FLEET Driver Trainer certification.
• Minimum 2 years driver trainer experience.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License
• Violation free abstracts.
