Job Details

Responsabilities:

loads, unloads company vehicles with/of packages scheduled for pickups/deliverieschecks correctness and completeness of consignment during pickups/deliveriesconsults with dispatching on best route available for a timely delivery/pickupmust be able to read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient routedriver must make sure that the House Way Bill is properly completed by shipper and/or consigneeuses cell phone to immediately report on progress or problem of deliveries, pick ups and to secure permanent availabilityverifies good order of packages and/or envelopesprovides a communication link between customers and office staff. Any customer feedback must immediately be reported to drivers’ dispatcherkeeps the assigned vehicle clean inside and outsidemust execute regular pre-trip inspectionsfollows maintenance schedule for assigned vehicleassure that all tasks assigned to driver are fulfilled in a correct and timely mannermust maintain excellent cooperation with other team membersmust be courteous with all customers and must always use proper languagemust be dependable and avoid unexcused absencemust be presentable, wear clean clothes and well-kept at all timesalways follow safety of worknever leave car alone with shipment at unguarded or lonesome locations

Goals:

The holder of this position must fulfil his obligations in such a way that:

all tasks in his position are completed in a correct, timely, rapid and cost-efficient mannershipments are transported by the most secure, most rapid, and most efficient waythe instructions of dispatching / operations / customer service are carefully attended toall tasks are fulfilled according to corporate policies and proceduresthe needs and expectations of the customer are considered and fulfilledall relevant and applicable regulations and guidelines are adhered to (e.g. ADR / IATA)

The holder of this position must coordinate the cooperation between his area of work with all other areas of the corporation in such a manner that the flow of information is always free of friction, unimpeded, and a holistically positive coordination is assured

Individual tasks:

The holder of the position is obligated to perform, in addition to the above described tasks, individual tasks assigned by his superiors, which are to be seen by their nature as part of his work area, or which arise out of necessity

Organizational structure:

The Driver is subordinate to Dispatch Manager / Customer Service / Operations / Branch Manager

No co-workers are subordinate to the Driver
