GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Drive a company vehicle to transport and deliver company products to customers and other company branches. Assisting in unloading the truck is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Pull and organize customer orders for delivery by part number and quantity as directed by picking ticket in priority assigned.Load materials into vehicle and install bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Ensure that load is secure.Follow company delivery routes to insure maximum efficiency of delivery run.Check all load–related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.Check vehicles before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

1 year of general warehouse experience or HD parts experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to lift 50lbs safely.Communication: Conveying information to others in an effective manner. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Time Management: Managing one’s own time and the time of others.Reading Comprehension:  Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.Judgment & Decision Making: Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions in order to choose the appropriate one.Coordination:  Adjusting actions in relation to others’ actions.
