Rate of Pay: $16/hr

Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.) Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) with at least 21 hours worked per week. 

Function 

The pick-up driver will take on the task of picking up donations for the Cheyenne Corps, from Monday through Friday, and if necessary, Saturday (as determined by the Corps Officers, Business Director). 

 Duties and Responsibilities 

Total hours are not to exceed 29 hours per week include:

Keep to daily pick up schedule for donated food items from donating businesses Pick up/delivery of other donated items, supplies, & seasonal items as necessary Maintain accurate donation records using applicable daily business pick up slips Turn in daily for appropriate recording (to business director or alternate) Sort and discard any visibly rotten or moldy food items, as necessary Place donated food items, requiring temperature control, into refrigerators or freezers once delivered back to corps Maintain exterior and interior of cargo van clean and presentable, as necessary Working with other staff in setting up rooms for meetings and events Take out office trash and recycling weekly or as needed Monitor equipment & vehicle for serviceability, and supplies to prevent shortages Report any issues to Business Director or Corps Officers Attended weekly staff meeting Maintain cleanliness of facility by mopping and cleaning bathrooms and meeting rooms Model exceptional customer service & build good relationships with donors, other community partners, volunteers and program clients Perform other duties as assigned by the Corps Officers and/or Business Director

Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications

Education/Experience Be able to read, write and understand English. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Must have a valid Wyoming driver license. Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisor Must have a courteous attitude with demonstrated ability to interact with public in a friendly and polite manner. Driving
A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required. An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies. Background Check Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.

Physical Requirements 

Ability to maneuver. Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate a telephone. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information.
