Role OverviewThe Field Service Representative (Roving) is a technical and customer-facing role responsible for providing on-site support, maintenance, and repair of GE Aerospace products. This position requires extensive travel (up to 60% worldwide annually) and hands-on expertise in aviation systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of GE Aerospace’s products while supporting customer operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical direction and assistance to customers in the operation, maintenance, repair, logistic support, and installation of GE products.Perform hands-on repair and maintenance tasks, including disassembly, inspection, and assembly of the Composite Propeller System and related components.Provide on-site interpretation of data and technical instruction.Communicate program status, customer issues, failures, trends, and opportunities to Product Support, Field Service, and Program Management teams through regular reports.Assist customers in scheduling maintenance and workload, ensuring parts meet established schedules.Review the effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training needs and make recommendations based on findings.Perform intermediate and depot-level maintenance tasks.Anticipate program requirements and assist in implementing actions to satisfy those needs.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong technical expertise in aviation systems. Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, OR a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of aviation experience in a field service or maintenance role, OR an FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.At least 2 years of experience performing extensive repairs, conversions, and maintenance work on engines and/or propellers.Ability to travel up to 60% worldwide annually.Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.Must be able to pass a non-DOT drug test and a background check.Preferred QualificationsStrong oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and data manipulation.Attention to detail and ability to analyze and resolve problems.Strong team player with experience integrating across various organizations.Self-motivated individual with proven ability to handle multiple tasks in high-stress situations.Additional InformationPrimary Work Location: Cherry Point MCAS-Havelock, NC.Other Customer Sites: Miramar MCAS-San Diego, CA; Ft Worth JRB (USMC), Ft Worth, TX; Kaneohe Bay MCB, Honolulu, HI; Iwakuni MCAS, Iwakuni, JP; and other locations as required.Travel Requirements: Up to 60% worldwide annually.Physical Requirements: Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.Screening: Background check and non-DOT drug test required.ClosingJoin GE Aerospace and be part of a team that’s redefining the future of flight.
