Double Haploid Laboratory Specialist

The **Georgetown R&D** center at Caledon, Ontario is the global technology hub for Corteva’s canola breeding programs with on-site field, greenhouse and lab activities supporting the development of industry leading seed products for various markets. This position will focus on canola doubled haploid production and process improvement in canola DH lab, while also assisting with medium preparation and plant tissue ploidy identification using cytometry. **What You'll Do:** + Follow and maintain standardized DH production procedures and ensure to deliver the requested number of DH plantlets. + Perform DH production related tasks, such as plant management, microspore culture, plantlet regeneration and soil transfer, genomic selection and related data management. + Manage daily work, prioritize tasks and efficiently complete production steps on time. + Work with team members to collaboratively complete production workload based upon a dynamic worklist. + Conduct DH process improvement experiments, record, analyze and report experimental results. + Supervise temporary employees. + Operate and maintain laboratory equipment. + Order and receive laboratory materials. + Find, report and solve technical issues and follow safety rules. + Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. + Assist with miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, handling, packaging and storing laboratory materials. **What Skills You Need:** + Bachelor of Biology Science degree or higher with 1-2 years of tissue culture laboratory work experience. + Proven technical ability in plant tissue culture. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. + Ability and desire to learn new techniques and knowledge in plant cell biology. + Strong attention to details. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. + Demonstrated positive attitude and organization ability. + Excellent verbal communication skill. ***Please note, there is no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance offered for this role.** Corteva Agriscience™ is an equal opportunity employer.
