Purpose of Position
Shipping/Receiving clerks are responsible for tracking deliveries and troubleshooting order issues with suppliers and in charge of all items that are shipped from the company. They support shipping and receiving activities for domestic and export sales orders. Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products; expedite missing material.
Key Responsibilities:
\n\nPrepare documents such as address labels/shipping orders and issue these to warehousers for shipping preparation.\nShip or route orders utilizing the ERP system and update the system with the carrier (vendor) information and tracking number.
\nIssue MO’s to production and warehouse floor and update ERP system.
\nContact carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
\nDetermine shipping method for materials to departments, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
\nCommunicate with both internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner.
\nMaintain shipping records and record shipping records such as weight, charges, space availability for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
\nReceive products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks at the loading docks
\nCompare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list
\nUpdate the product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory
\nPrint tally’s and attach to freight.
\nResponsible for communicating any safety issues with the dock
\nWork with Planners and Buyers when there is an issue with packing slips
\nWork with Accounts payable on issues with receipts
\nCommunicate with 311 receiving about shuttles and cross docks
\nContact certain Vendors with material issues
\nProcess orders in I buy

Qualification:
\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite\n2+ years' warehouse experience \nMust possess an understanding of OSHA safety rules for warehouse work \nAbility to lift up to 40 pounds at a time unassisted \nStrong computer skills/knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel\nAble to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and nights as needed\nAble to work at a fast pace environment\nMust be able to a team player in a fast-paced environment\nWHO IS GILBARCO VEEDER-ROOT
