Domain / Disaster Recovery Architect - Remote - 5 months contract

We're looking for a hands-on senior engineer or architect to support cyber recovery planning through technical analysis, architectural decomposition, and execution. We are looking for someone who can break down complex systems, challenge assumptions, and help build real-world, vault-based recovery capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Decompose and analyse enterprise applications to identify essential recovery components. Conduct technical workshops with stakeholders to gather system and infrastructure insights. Produce recovery blueprints, run books, and architectural diagrams. Collaborate with partners (e.g., Dell) to implement vault-based recovery strategies. Lead or support recovery tests, validate processes, and iterate based on lessons learned.

Experience

Enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, finance) and mapping interdependencies. Domain-driven architecture design and platform mapping. Hands-on disaster recovery execution, especially vault-based or cold-site scenarios. Led technical workstreams across infrastructure, security, and application teams. Delivered run books, templates, and documentation with version control. Participated in full-cycle recovery exercises, including in-vault testing.

Key Skills

Domain-Driven Design (DDD), architectural modeling (Visio, ArchiMate). Strong scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and validation. Familiarity with Commvault, Dell EMC Vault, Data Domain, and related CLI/API tools. Excellent documentation, facilitation, and cross-functional communication skills. Strong grasp of data compliance (GDPR, SOX, HIPAA). Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
