Description We are looking for a skilled document review Attorney/Lawyer who is fluent in Japanese and possesses a Juris Doctor (JD) along with an active bar license in any U.S. jurisdiction. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant legal matters involving Japanese-language documents, all while working remotely. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of legal review processes. Responsibilities: • Conduct thorough reviews of Japanese-language documents to assess their relevance and identify key issues related to litigation. • Translate or summarize complex legal and technical documents from Japanese to English with high accuracy. • Apply legal expertise to extract valuable information and contribute to case strategies. • Collaborate closely with litigation and document review teams to ensure consistent and precise document coding. • Adhere to strict confidentiality standards and follow project-specific protocols and deadlines. • Utilize tools such as Relativity to perform document coding and maintain organized workflows. • Perform legal research to support case development and ensure compliance with administrative and civil litigation standards. • Commit to remote work, maintaining availability Monday through Friday. • Ensure all work is conflict-free and comply with review clearance protocols. Requirements • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. • Active bar license in good standing within any U.S. jurisdiction. • Fluency in Japanese, with the ability to translate and analyze legal documents effectively. • Proven experience in plaintiff-side litigation; defense-side experience may result in conflicts. • Familiarity with document coding platforms such as Relativity. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting. • Willingness to provide dedicated availability solely to this matter. • Commitment to confidentiality and precision in handling sensitive legal information.
