Summary
The Document Imaging Specialist II oversees the documents that are received and assists in distributing workload, sorting incoming mail, categorizing the HIM Scanning inbox, managing the HIM Scanning Message Center, completing the HIM corrections queue promptly, and serving as the point of contact for questions.
In addition, this position is responsible for processing the inpatient documentation which require a more complex process. This role will be required to be on site "as needed" assist in physically collecting charts across all hospital and clinical departments while strictly adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Distributes the workload of the Document Imaging department to ensurecompliance with all standards. Complete the scanning process for inpatient related documents which
follow a more complex process Research and resolve issues interfering with workflow. Collaborate with
other departments when needed to find solutions. Manages corrections queue in a timely manner. Completes documentation with actions taken and reports findings to Supervisor. Process documents that come via message center promptly Categorizing scanning inbox for team members to retrieve documents Perform similar or related duties as requested such as assisting in safely transporting clinical documents from Inpatient Units, Surgical and Procedure Suites. Follows department policies and procedures.
Credentials and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required Minimum of two (2) year of experience with the patients' health records scanning process for all patient type, inpatient and outpatient, and chart analysis.
