Job Summary
As a Dock Associate, you will engage in physically demanding and fast-paced work, operating equipment to load and unload machinery and individual pallets. Your responsibilities will include understanding and applying chaining and rigging techniques, as well as various lifting and towing methods. The primary goal is to handle all loading, unloading, parking, and staging of equipment efficiently and safely, ensuring smooth operations within the dock environment.
Responsibilities
· Loading and Unloading Equipment
· Unload and load all equipment into/from tractor trailers.
· Prioritize LTL drivers as they arrive (typically a few pallets).
· Equipment Staging and Tagging
· Properly tag all equipment using:
o New Equipment Tags
o Rental Equipment Tags
o RENEWED Equipment Tags
· Stage all items in the correct inbound staging areas.
· Ensure nothing is parked in spaces until properly tagged.
· Keep the new equipment "shop" area cleared throughout the day.
· Stage next day's shipments in the outbound area.
· Daily Operations and Maintenance
· Stand up all equipment and place it in the proper spot before leaving each day.
· Ensure all batteries are placed in the corresponding equipment before departure.
· Charge the shop trucks prior to leaving each day.
· Sweep and mop the dock area, including vacuuming/sweeping against walls.
· Remove all trash and debris, emptying both trash bins during and before leaving each day.
· Repair or replace floor tape lines and damaged floor labels as needed.
· Perform any other duties as assigned or required to support the company's overall operations and objectives.
Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent minimum.
· Basic mechanical understanding.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Must exhibit detail orientation and the ability to juggle priorities.

Occasionally, the role may entail working in elevated conditions, encountering harmful or corrosive chemicals, and facing the risk of electric shock. There is potential exposure to hazards related to equipment movement and harmful chemicals/solvents if proper safety procedures are not followed. Noise levels typically range from moderate to high.
