Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? **What You Will Do** Have you ever faced a challenge that required a tool you couldn't find on the market? Our team encounters similar situations regularly. As part of the P&W PR Development Operations Assembly Equipment Engineering team, you will design and analyze custom tools for assembling and disassembling Pratt & Whitney commercial and military aircraft engines. These specialized tools are not available in stores; they are meticulously manufactured to meet specific requirements, tight tolerances, and the precise dimensions of various aircraft engine parts and modules. In this role, you will collaborate with peers both locally and in the United States to identify requirements, design, draft and analyze assembly and disassembly equipment for aircraft engines. You will combine mechanical design, structural mechanics, and engineering principles with CAE software programs, such as CAD and FEA, to create functional, safe, reliable, and manufacturable equipment. As an assembly equipment engineer professional, you are expected to be curious, proactive, and adept at problem-solving. You will exhibit innovation, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset, aligning with our company's leadership behaviors and values to achieve our goals. + Responsible for the structural assessments of assembly equipment for military and commercial engines with minimal guidance. + Apply knowledge of engineering mechanics, statics, and strength of materials to perform comprehensive structural analysis. + Work on structural analysis solutions with minimal guidance when historical solutions are not available or applicable. Analysis may include both classical methods and/or creation of finite element models (FEM) for detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Ansys Workbench. + Participate in multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for safety, cost and weight. + Document and present analysis results in design review meetings with management and internal customers. + English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English. + Travel up to 10% **Qualifications You Must Have** + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering.  + 2 years of engineering experience or an advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. **Qualifications We Prefer** + Understanding and application of mechanics statics, strength of materials, and machine design theories and concepts, including axial, shear, bending, torsion, combined stresses, and buckling. + Experience in applying strength of materials theories, including stress concentration factors, stress-strain curves, material properties, and factors of safety. + Experience in mechanics statics theories, such as free-body diagrams, equilibrium equations, vector decomposition, geometric properties, friction force, rolling resistance, and overturning. + Experience with structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA). + Ability to interpret technical drawings. + Familiarity with traditional (predictive) and/or Agile (adaptive) project management tools and techniques. + Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), weld types and symbols, and fasteners/threads standards. + Experience in CAD drawing and modeling. + Familiarity with lean six sigma & CORE continuous improvement framework. + Experience with Microsoft Excel text and logical functions, conditional formatting, pivot tables & charts, data validation. + Ability to create work instructions and capture knowledge in presentation or videos utilizing power point record and playback features. **Learn More & Apply Now!** + Development Operations provides services to support future products for global commercial airlines, industrial partners and military customers.
