The DM A&H Manager has direct P&L accountability for Direct Marketing products marketed by Chubb in Chile and reports to the Comercial Head of A&H. The position is responsible for the development and execution of profitable growth strategies through multiple distribution channels, including Sponsored Direct Marketing, Digital, Bancassurance and Direct-To-Consumer
The role will incorporate market analysis, opportunity assessment and provide support to country management and regional office, to close new business opportunities. The position will help drive growth in our A&H business through the development of existing and new products and the provision of strategic and tactical support in the acquisition of new business through new and existing partnerships presented.
It will also have to lead the local UW and functional Area. The position is primarily responsible for having appropriate pricing methodologies and effective rate monitoring processes and procedures and having appropriate pricing methodologies which are transparent and consistent for each class of business. Data Analysis and Portfolio Management to support A&H products in Chile. The role will also provide important guidance in the areas of Data Management, Financial Planning and Loss Reserving processes. This is to ensure that the LOB generates sufficient premiums in the aggregate to achieve the planned levels of profitability in the business plan approved by Chubb.
Direct Marketing experience is essential (knowledge of the market, regulations, brokers, products, competitors, distribution channels, etc.) Proven ability to deliver exceptional results in a dynamic environment. +5 years in the insurance industry with proved experience in DM Marketing within product or business responsibilities. Technical Knowledge and understanding of A&H underwriting including risk evaluation, the elements of coverage, pricing and key metrics Ability to design and implement coherent underwriting strategies which generate profitable business Ability to assess and analyze all aspects of underwriting, operational and counterparty risk to a high degree of competence. A sound working knowledge of planning and implementing sound business controls and systems to maintain a well-controlled operating environment. A thorough command of internal reporting and assessment of the Business Lines performance through various tools with the ability to provide concise reports/narrative to Senior Management to highlight the performance of the Business Line. Good and varied knowledge of analysis tools and methodology and ability to apply it to direct/conduct detailed analysis. A good understanding of general insurance financials and internal management reporting tools An ability to convey underwriting principles and performance results to a wide-ranging audience. Ability to interact with colleagues, other departments, clients, and intermediaries confidently and with clarity. Effective and positive negotiation skills. Professional appearance and attitude. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with various intermediaries and business partners. Full understanding of data protection and money laundering legislation. A good working knowledge of general insurance regulatory framework. High level of self-management and motivation with ability to multi-task and operate well under pressured environment. Ability to build relations with internal colleagues across both functional and regional lines and work as part of a team, motivating others to achieve required goals. An advanced competence in using various systems and programmes to interpret requirements and direct the production of underwritten reports and analysis. A good working knowledge of the utilization of financial reporting systems. Microsoft Office – Access, Excel, Outlook, Word. Experience in CRM /Analytics role. A” hands on” player, able to clearly articulate what is required and work towards achieving creative solutions to our analytical needs across the LA team. Demonstrated initiative as evidenced by ability to self-manage, organize, and prioritize work with minimal direction from others. Bachelor's degree in business, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. Advanced degree highly desirable. Must speak English (verbal and written) as well as Spanish. Experience working within a matrix organization highly desirable.
