The District Manager is responsible for the service business within the assigned district and for leading the activity of all field service engineers to achieve the district’s service support objectives and business plan. Serves as owner and point of contact for escalated service activity within the district. Responsibilities include achieving/exceeding assigned installation, maintenance and repair targets through effective coaching and development of employees, identifying, and implementing process improvements and changes to increase the group’s effectiveness and value to its customers, and managing the team's job performance and career development.
This position is part of the Field Service Team and will be located in Los Angeles/Orange County CA. A key requirement is that the candidate must live or must be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of the Los Angeles and Orange County, CA metro areas.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Effectively strategize and drive business object, plan, direct and coordinate the daily activities of service personnel to achieve service and business objectives. (Revenue/Orders/Margin/OP)
+ Communicate and defuse internal and external customer/employee situations and communicate and work with other department managers to identify potential improvements in the quality of services and/or support provided.
+ Identify service, technical and workflow skills assessment and mentoring to the team.
+ Develop and track performance objectives for the team and effectively addresses and resolves employee issues
+ Demonstrate effective communication skills, either through team interactions or presentations to clearly articulate business objectives strategies
+ Handle district company assets including inventory, company cars, and tools.
+ Communicate regularly with sales colleagues to drive business objectives.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience.
+ Business acumen that includes budgeting, logistics and project leadership or management
+ Must possess strong management skills to lead effectively and direct Field Service Engineers to achieve district business objectives.
+ Experience developing others through demonstration, coaching, and counseling
+ Experience in a customer-facing functions and working with cross-functional teams
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: ·
+ Ability to travel 30-50% travel by vehicle or airplane, including overnight, within the Los Angeles and Orange County, CA metro areas.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
+ Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lb, any other physical requirements
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or capillary electrophoresis scientific instruments is preferred
+ 3+ years of current leadership experience managing a group, teams, and/or projects. Field Service or engineering is preferred.

The salary range for this role is $120,000.00- $130,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
