Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to provide strategic direction for retail operations, to ensure operational execution meets company goals of sales, margin, private label penetration, OSAT, associate satisfaction. 

Here’s what you’ll do: 

Maintain company culture and promote positive work environment that fosters strong associate relations, as well as positive customer and community relations. 

Responds to inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, members of the business community and associates. 

Develop talent pipelines and succession plans within retail. 

Reviews profit and loss statements and monitor factors contributing to profitability. 

Reviews financial statements and trains store directors to read, understand and use the information to improve retail operations. 

Enforces and follows all government requirements, health and safety codes, inspection standards and company policies, procedures and retail operating standards that apply to the conduct of business. 

Promotes a healthy and safe environment for employees and customers and protects company assets. 

Directs the activities of Store Directors and may direct other associates and/or activities. 

Plans, assigns, and guides the work of the store management team. Is responsible for the execution of merchandising and operational plans. 

Ensure positive customer experience. 

Help foster the growth and development of people resources. 

Responsible for the department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required. 

Maintain current knowledge of industry trend and best Retail Merchandising practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes. 

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

Here’s what you’ll need: 

Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 

Ten years of comprehensive retail operations experience. 

Five years of experience in a supervisory/management role. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong negotiation and influencing skills. 

Ability to effectively manage internal and external business relationships and work collaboratively. 

Excellent organization, prioritization, project management, analytical and decision-making skills. 

Strong leadership and financial/business acumen skills. 

Demonstrated knowledge of merchandising and procurement principles and skills, and in-depth knowledge of the meat/seafood merchandising. 

Proficient in Microsoft office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; Access experience preferred. 

Ability to travel up to 50%.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate but may be high in distribution settings. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
