Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Distribution Technician to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the utility and electrical distribution field. You will assist in the acquisition and interpretation of field data, support the design and preparation of construction orders, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist in acquiring and interpreting field data.
+ Gather and analyze information from field notes.
+ Adhere to the company’s Code of Safe Practices.
+ Maintain clear communication with supervisors, coworkers, and external clients.
+ Prepare and submit reports and correspondence.
+ Independently design and prepare construction orders for overhead and underground electric distribution systems.
+ Apply client and industry standards in the layout of electric distribution facilities.
Required Skills:
+ Field data collection
+ Electrical wiring and equipment
+ Work order preparation
+ Drafting and technical documentation
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent/ or associate's degree
+ Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or prior utility experience preferred
+ Proficiency with MS Office products preferred
+ Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
+ Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally overnight
Additional Information:
+ Travel is primarily regional within the utility client’s territory.
+ Occasional travel to other company territories for up to 2 weeks may be required.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
