Distribution Slotting Technician - $22.73 per hour

Analyzes and maintains SKU slotting in active and case pick locations with a focus on maximizing distribution pick efficiencies, improving throughput, SKU life cycle analysis, and meeting business and customer needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze product sales volumes and forecasts to create and maintain warehouse locations to support efficient order filling activities and overall slotting strategies.Participate and/or manage SKU consolidation projects.Monitor WM cubing data for accurate slotting media.SKU Life Cycle ManagementProvides support to the Shelby Materials Department.Responsible for monitoring daily reports to support material handling and distribution activities.Responsible for daily 6S activities, such as housekeeping, maintaining an organized and safe work area, and any appropriate paperwork/check sheets.Other duties as assigned

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:    

Strong aptitude for analyzing and implementing improvement initiatives.Understanding productivity, efficiency, and throughput in distribution, how they are measured, and what effects slotting activities would have on those metrics.Ability to perform analysis and maintenance in a warehouse management system and SKU configuration management system.Ability to analyze and manage large amounts of data.Strong problem solving skillsExcellent project and time management skillsStrong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.Ability to work, succeed, and contribute in a team environment.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration from a two-year college or technical school; or one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.An overall understanding of a distribution facility and principles of a LEAN enterprise.
