Distribution Services Assistant

About the role:
As a Distribution Assistant, you will be an essential team member supporting the hospital’s operations by managing distribution and waste services. You will interact respectfully and confidentially with patients, staff, and visitors, contributing to a safe and supportive environment.

This is a full-time opportunity, and as such, you will need to have full working rights within Australia to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Distribute general items including pharmaceuticals, linen, specimens, and food across the hospital as per scheduled tasks.Collect and deliver clean linen and manage the collection of dirty linen following manual handling and infection control protocols.Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards in patient areas and designated spaces, including post-discharge cleaning.Use and maintain distribution and cleaning equipment safely and report any faults or damages promptly.Adhere to hospital and Downer’s health, safety, and zero harm policies, actively participating in safety initiatives.

About you:

Previous experience in stores, distribution, or similar roles is preferred; healthcare experience is desirable.Knowledge of workplace health and safety and infection control principles.Strong customer service focus with high attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks in a busy environment, and maintain professionalism.Well-presented, reliable, and committed to wearing the uniform correctly and upholding confidentiality.
