**The Role:** Xylem seeks to hire a Distribution Manager who will be responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics activities at 3 sites. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring best in class practices are followed for inventory, receiving and shipping activities while fostering Xylem’s High Impact culture.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Lead distribution operations for Rockford, Sarasota and La Mirada locations – direct responsibility for distribution activities including receiving, storage and shipping. Demonstrate a commitment to employee safety.
+ Manage the maintenance of control system for inventoried items for all stocking locations. Develop control methods/procedures for all stocking locations. Develop and document inventory control processes in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Train staff and audit to insure compliance.
+ Coordinate inventory control activities with other company functions impacting inventory control problems and develop solutions to maintain targeted inventory accuracy.
+ Ensure maintenance of accurate inventory records and timely inventory audits at all stock keeping locations. Oversee, schedule and supervisor regular physical inventory counts and cycle counting activity for all locations.
+ Directly supervise all shipping and receiving personnel. Ensure employees adhere to all company policies and standard operating procedures. Address any performance or safety issues including steps to execute disciplinary actions according to company policy.
+ Manage overtime to optimize performance while minimizing/controlling cost.
+ Assign order load and/or special tasks to personnel to meet on time delivery goals.
+ Confirm all materials are unpacked, sorted, accurately counted and properly labeled .
+ Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents.
+ Maintain department and company database, prepare routine reports, file shipping/receiving records. Measure and report team performance as agreed through daily, weekly and monthly metrics.
+ Review and approve order requests for department supplies.
+ Follow established departmental policies and procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
+ Ensure employees are knowledgeable of systems and procedures to include Coordinate training as necessary in order fulfillment, equipment operation, safety and all other aspects of job performance.
+ Responsible for coming in early, staying late and working non-standard work days/hours as needed to meet customer requirements.
**Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:**
+ Bachelor degree in business, supply chain/logistics, operations management or related field or equivalent experience is required
+ Minimum of 7 years of inventory and logistics management related experience
+ SAP experience strongly preferred
+ Demonstrated experience managing a professional organization; ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
+ Ability to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams
+ Superior communication both written and verbal
+ Strong organizational, technical and analytical skills
+ Effective interpersonal skills with employees, customers and management team
+ Ability to coach, mentor and develop employees
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Power Point and ERP systems
+ Great attention to detail and problem solving skills
+ Focused on customer satisfaction
The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $110,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. **Specialized Knowledge Required** – _Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations_
