Leidos is seeking an experienced Distribution Engineering Lead in Pune, India for electric distribution design engineering. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained. If you join us in this role, you'll gain expertise in a variety of areas, including NESC, Structural Pole Modeling, Electrical Power Calculations, GIS design training, Field Data Collection, and Client Design Standards. As a Distribution Engineering Lead, you can expect to:
Lead the development of electrical distribution work packages; Perform engineering design and analysis; potentially work on capital/ reliability design (i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)Be responsible for QAQC tasks on your assigned team; You will play a role in quality reviews of your team's designs prior to submittals for client projectsReview engineering design packages for clients; Review and organize existing program workPerform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client prioritiesProvide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.Coordinate conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements; Assist with work permit development, easements, and ROW applicationsIn the future, you can expect to play a role in the hiring process for the future of your teamWhat Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):
4+ years of relevant experience.Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial). Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Relevant experience working directly with an electric utility or an electric utility consulting company performing design engineering for electric distribution. Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC)Experience with engineering design quality controlFamiliarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman, etc) and distribution pole analysisProviding estimated costs, development of a BOMEngineering experience with structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, calculations of electric demand and fault currentsExperience using CAD programs to perform Electrical Distribution design Previous QAQC experienceProven experience and proficiency with GIS is preferredPrior Leadership experience is preferredProfessional attributes
