This position is within the Distribution Department, where you will design and review overhead and underground distribution lines ranging from 12.5 kV to 34.5 kV. You will engineer and create distribution design work packages for new customer construction projects, ensuring compliance with quality and consistency standards.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and review overhead and underground distribution lines from 12.5 kV to 34 kV.Develop overhead and underground cable/conduit work packages.Design complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments, complying with engineering and construction specifications, field project requirements, and identification of conflicting utilities.Coordinate small design teams to develop budgets, prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables.Provide engineering assistance during construction and attend meetings, coordination efforts, and community outreach as needed.Identify and initiate corrective action when project objectives are not being met.Interpret codes and regulations, developing standards for construction projects.Promote engineering professionalism and standards.Develop, recommend, and implement plans by establishing goals, objectives, and requirements for complex engineering projects.Travel up to 30% of the time to client sites; travel duration may vary depending on project needs.Essential SkillsProficient in AutoCAD drafting.Experience working on utility distribution services or electrical engineering within commercial construction.Experience in power distribution and electric system design.Minimum of one to two years of experience with electric utility distribution design projects.Minimum of one to two years of experience in overhead, URD, re-conductoring, asset replacement projects, and underground cable/conduit distribution design work package development.Minimum of one to two years of experience with complex distribution projects in urban and rural environments.Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field will count towards years of experience.PE License is desirable but not required.Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment with two to three days in the office, operating on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 4pm. You will enjoy three weeks of paid time off and additional benefits.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
